If you have made a resolution to enhance your property in 2023, don’t be tempted to backtrack on it; come on, follow it through!
Some encouragement might be what’s required and ERG Scotland can provide it by giving you an answer to this key question – “what are the design trends for 2023?”.
Give them a read and then get cracking on with the job at hand.
Wild Wonder™ – Dulux Colour of the Year
2023 marks the twentieth year of the colour experts at Dulux announcing a ‘Colour of the Year’ and its Wild Wonder™ that they have picked this time around, doing so for being “inspired by the natural world”.
Dulux recognised the pressing need for us all to be more appreciative of nature as it becomes increasingly threatened by climate change, and wanted a shade with a nature-like undercurrent.
A delicate green, Wild Wonder™ has the warmth and softness to work in any room, but creates the best ambience in kitchens, bedrooms and home offices.
Irregular rug shapes
A budget-friendly and simple way of reviving a room is to put a new floor covering inside the space e.g. rug.
But instead of your traditional square, rectangular and circular rugs, people will be buying geometric, angular and curved rugs in their droves.
Put one in your conservatory design and make it a centrepiece of it that visitors will love.
Social spaces
Although Covid restrictions were relaxed some time ago, not everyone immediately felt comfortable with having lots of people back in their home. In 2023, social occasions at home will be fully back on the agenda.
The kitchen is the place to hold your group gatherings if it has a layout including an island and breakfast bar, so that cooking and conversation can co-exist in the same room.
After dinner, take guests into the conservatory, orangery or home extension if you’re sure it is well-insulated and nobody will go cold or find themselves too hot.
On our Inspirations page, there are projects that incorporate the latest trends for you to look at, overseen by this region’s leader in home window design and front door design, ERG Scotland.
